How Does It Work?<\/h4>\n\t\t\t
Our body generates electrochemical currents. These currents can be measured and visualized (e.g., an electrocardiogram). Our skin is, figuratively speaking, a very flat battery that generates a current. If we pierce the epidermis, the current will be irreversibly destroyed. However, if the epidermis is punctured with microneedles, the blood supply to the puncture site will be temporarily cut off, but the body will repair the damage immediately.<\/p>\n
Microneedles, which have very fine, sharp tips, are atraumatic-that is, they do not cause injury. These are harmless because they remain on the surface of the epidermis.
